Fu Yaoyao and Zhong Shenhao returned to the abandoned hotel where Jiang Zuoa and Xia Yu were waiting for them. Jiang Zuoa and Fu Yaoyao pieced together the entire case. It was discovered that He Huakai had leaked information about his drug trafficking activities, and had gathered everyone who knew the truth in this hotel. He proceeded to eliminate them one by one. However, he later discovered that two people had survived, and so he used love to manipulate Xia Yu to his advantage. Alternatively, Xia Yu may have been He Huakai's accomplice from the beginning.

Upon hearing this, Xia Yu hurriedly explained that he had been brainwashed by He Huakai since he was rescued from the hotel. However, Jiang Zuoa believed that the accusation against Zhong Shenhao may not have come from He Huakai, but rather from Xia Yu himself. Later, He Huakai arrived and explained that Xia Yu had decided to expose Zhong Shenhao after seeing the video of him attacking Shao Nian.

Jiang Zuoa continued to deduce the case based on this information. That night, Xia Yu witnessed Zhong Shenhao killing Pan Liang, which left her frightened. However, she gradually realized that Zhong Shenhao did not harbor any ill intentions towards her, and she began to rely on him. The seed of love quietly sprouted in their hearts. Later, when Xia Yu saw the video, she decided to help Zhong Shenhao clear his name and deliberately accused him of being the culprit. She then provided clues about the No. 8 warehouse to prove that the video was fake, in order to distract the attention of the police.

As for the gold ore hidden in the secret room, it was all smuggled back by He Huakai from Tibet. It was Tian Miaomiao who suggested hiding the ore in this hotel. However, Tian Miaomiao later fell to her death, and He Huakai meticulously planned this reality show in an attempt to find the real culprit who killed her. The photos in the hands of the addict were not evidence of He Huakai's drug trafficking, but a scene of him transferring the ore.

Everyone climbed to the attic, only to find the driver, Xiaomei, and Lu Jing standing there alive and well. The driver told everyone that he had witnessed Zhong Shenhao killing someone on the night Pan Liang died. However, he had originally planned to ally with Xia Yu until he found out that Xia Yu had fallen in love with Zhong Shenhao, which prompted him to reveal the truth. So, while Zhong Shenhao was talking with Xia Yu, he played dead and told Xiaomei and Lu Jing the truth.

When the rescue team arrived on the scene, the three of them wanted to expose Zhong Shenhao's crime. However, when they found out that Fu Yaoyao was close to Zhong Shenhao, they had to be cautious. So, the three of them worked together to transport the three corpses to the abandoned hospital, planning their next move. Zhong Shenhao seemed flustered, thinking that the three of them had no signs of life left. But he seemed to have forgotten that on the night Pan Liang tried to escape, the driver mentioned that he had brought a lot of herbs that could help them successfully evade Zhong Shenhao's search.

Xiaomei and Lu Jing chose to ally with the driver because they found Tian Miaomiao's diary in the secret room. Tian Miaomiao had always loved Zhong Shenhao, but when she found out he was developing drugs, her feelings changed. She tried to persuade him to stop the illegal activity, but to no avail. Afterwards, she demanded a huge amount of hush money from Zhong Shenhao in an attempt to stop this foolish trade, but Zhong Shenhao saw her as a threat, leading to him killing her and making He Huakai take the blame.

Zhou Ping witnessed all of this, but was caught up in the confusion at the time and did not see Zhong Shenhao's face clearly. Afterwards, He Huakai and Zhou Ping persisted in filming the reality show at the abandoned hotel, once again causing Zhong Shenhao to panic. When everyone entered the hotel, Zhong Shenhao was in the midst of a transaction with a foreigner. When they heard Shao Nian's voice from the attic, everyone rushed up. At that time, Zhou Ping whispered something in Shao Nian's ear. This series of events triggered Zhong Shenhao's sensitive emotions, leading him to commit a series of heinous murders at the abandoned hotel.
